Essenvia is rethinking what supplements can do for women’s wellness. From his personal experiences with supplements, those of his close family, and the supplement market as he saw it, the idea behind Essenvia crystallised for Essenvia’s founder: GS. He was motivated to do something different. We spoke with the founder of Essenvia about the moment inspiration struck, the challenges he faced on the supplement market, and his vision for the future.
A Personal Beginning
Long before Essenvia was founded, supplements were already part of daily life for GS. He was fascinated by the science behind them, and by how targeted nutrition could help people feel better and live more fully.
“I’ve always been a curious and dedicated user of supplements,” He explains. “I’ve been fascinated by how science can transform something as simple as nutrition into a real improvement in quality of life.”
While he clearly saw the benefits supplements can bring, the people closest to him had a different experience. “My wife struggled to maintain a consistent routine of protein and vitamin intake,” he recalls. “Protein shakes were often unpleasant, with a heavy texture. The number of vitamin pills quickly became overwhelming. And she felt there was a lack of products designed for women’s goals in a market that was still dominated by performance and price.”
The more he looked the more he saw that same frustration reflected in the experiences of other women using protein and supplements. There was a problem with the industry at large.
Essenvia was born from a simple observation: many women felt that supplements weren’t made for them, but they needed protein all the same. Protein products were often designed for performance-driven men, vitamin routines were inconvenient and fragmented, and the conversation rarely focused on women’s long-term health.

Traditional protein shakes can be heavy, chalky and difficult to enjoy as part of a busy, active day. Meanwhile, vitamin regimes can be overwhelming, managing your vitamin intake shouldn’t be stressful, but that's how it can feel with multiple tablets to remember at different times of the day. Instead of feeling supported, women reported feeling burdened.
The feeling didn’t end there. The supermarket aisles are full of products designed for athletes, for muscle growth, or for performance at any cost. Where were the solutions for women who just wanted to feel fit, healthy, and happy? Who could feel supported without compromising their daily routine? Who wanted nourishment that fit easily into their daily lives?
“What is often overlooked is that protein intake isn’t just about building muscle,” he continues. “Protein is the foundation for almost every metabolic process in the body. Adequate daily protein is essential self-care, whether or not someone trains regularly, because it supports bones, hormones, immunity, skin, and energy balance.”
The realisation that essential nutrition and daily happiness was being overlooked in the very space meant to promote wellness was the turning point. “I realised there weren’t solutions that combined science, practicality, and enjoyment, truly tailored to the modern woman’s lifestyle,” he says.
Protein, reinvented
From that insight, Essenvia was born. GS didn’t want to create yet another product aimed at performance or aesthetics; he prioritised wellness, balance and long-term happiness.
The starting point was protein. But not just any protein. “Clear protein stood out immediately,” the founder recalls. “Instead of something thick and chalky, it’s light, fruity, and easy to drink. That alone felt like a breakthrough.”
From there, he added 12 essential vitamins to the formula to create a product that would simplify and enhance women’s daily routines.
“We enriched the protein with 12 essential vitamins, because women need more than just protein,” he explains. “Vitamin D is critical in a climate like the Netherlands, where sunlight is limited. The B-complex supports energy and vitality. Vitamin K1 contributes to bone health and blood clotting. By combining these nutrients in one product, we created something that supports women’s daily routines without adding hassle.”
